The monster of indifference

Vain attempt to keep you
Where you are and sell you Cialis

You recline in your leather bound
Lazy Boy and simply sip a 7-Up
And choke down a fast food hotdog
That you requested with light relish
But wound up with extra classic Heinz

Force out a disgruntled sigh
And falsely sympathize and empathize
With a far off plight that’s magnified
By blurry photographs and grainy video
There is fear behind those lenses

But in transit through the air
The translation becomes skewed before
Reaching your eyes and ears reality
Is too distorted to be meaningful allowing
You to carry on your everyday normality

Rest yourself and remain oblivious
Wrapped around by unknowing bliss
